Guest lecture Prof. Ummu Salma Bava on "Europe's Role in International Governance", 8 December 2009

International or global governance has come into renewed focus especially after the end of the Cold War. We observe a shift in global politics and the necessity of the global system to respond to an increasingly wide range of problems. These include questions about the management of resources that influence the access and distribution of public goods within the international system.

Ummu Salma Bava is Professor of European Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi. Her main research interests lie in European policy and security, India’s role in the newly emerging world order and the relationship between Asia and Europe. In her lecture she will consider European foreign policy from an Asian perspective. Related work: The Strategic Shape of the World in a volume edited by Amit Dasgupta (Sage, 2009).

Zeit: 8. Dezember 2009, 18:15 - 20:00 Uhr
Ort: Raum KOL F-101, Universität Zürich, Rämistrasse 71, 8006 Zürich
